Golden Goal
Mighty white
Straight from the land of tricky footwork and flamboyant playmaking comes a crisp, fruity white: Lauquita Sauvignon Blanc from the Maule Valley in Chile. It's a 2008, so it's had chance to get some training in and develop a good balance, with a medium body and forward aromas of linoment and essence of referee (sorry - that should be spring floral notes and a citrus midfield). It's a winner.
VS
Robust red
Don't let the colour put you off. This is a Terre A Verre cabernet sauvignon that comes from the now legendary 2005 vintage - so good in fact that a case of 2005 claret would constitute the classiest bung you could offer a Sports Podge legend to change strips. This wine has more structure than Ajax and a longer finish than Arsenal trying to pass another one into the goal. This one won't spend much time on the bench. Enjoy!
